Sunrise Registration Terms for Trademark Holders

Sunrise registration requests are accepted from the exclusive owners of trademarks/service marks registered under national procedure in RF or protected under international procedure on RF territory.

A domain name registered shall fully match a trademark after:

  • omission of unprotected elements from the trademark (if a trademark is fully comprised from unprotected elements, the domain name shall include all trademark elements);
  • transliteration and/or transcription of verbal elements of a trademark consisting of non-Cyrillic symbols;
  • omission of TLD endings from a trademark;
  • omission from a trademark of non-Cyrillic symbols and those made as transliteration or transcription of a trademark Cyrillic equivalent.

This way, a trademark holder of NIC.RU is eligible for registration of the following domain names:

— íèê-ðó.ðô



General Technical Requirements

  • Minimum domain name length makes 2 characters (.РФ symbols excluded).
  • Minimum domain name length is determined by the length of its presentation "xn—...".
  • The length of presentation shall not exceed 63 characters (.РФ symbols excluded).
  • The domain name shall begin and end with a Cyrillic alphabet letter or numeral.
  • The Cyrillic alphabet letters, numerals or hyphens shall serve as intermediate symbols.
